What happened at the adults summer get together
We had our summer get together for adults with CP on 19 of June at Bobath - it was a great day and a good turn out.
In the morning we had a workshop about employment from Alex who works at Inclusion Scotland, who gave the group a lot of information about where to find a job and especially about Inclusions Scotland's internship programmes. The group found it very interesting and helpful. For more information, visit the Inclusion Scotland website.
After we heard from Alex, we had presentations from Kirsty and Colin who both have cerebral palsy and who talked to the group about their experiences of employment. This was very interesting to hear about their experiences. They had both faced different challenges with work, but were determined to keep working and encouraged everyone to not give up looking for jobs.
And then we had lunch and time to talk. After lunch we had a Boccia section hosted Scottish Disability Scottish sport which was great fun.
Over all it was a great day and enjoyed by all. We are planning to organise another get together for adults in the future. If you're interested in getting involved, please contact: firstname.lastname@example.org.
