Brian Hoare

Brian Hoare

Brian spent the first 20 years of his career as a clinical occupational therapist at Monash Children’s Hospital, Melbourne. He completed a PhD at La Trobe University and a post-doctoral fellowship at the Karolinska Institute, Sweden.

Brian is currently the Director of the Cerebral Palsy Group which incorporates CPTherapy, Australia’s largest cerebral palsy private practice and CPTeaching which provides high quality education that focuses on the translation of research findings into clinical practice.

Over the last decade, Brian has taught over 2000 clinicians about the implementation of evidence-based upper limb therapy for children with cerebral palsy. He is also the founder of CPToys which uses technology to improve the focus and outcomes of therapy programs for children with cerebral palsy. Brian currently holds an Adjunct Associate Professor position within the Schools of Occupational Therapy at La Trobe University and Australian Catholic University. He has published 40 peer-reviewed publications.
