Kirsty has been a trustee for Cerebral Palsy Scotland since 2019. She graduated from The University of Glasgow Medical School in 2006. Since 2015 she has been a consultant Geriatrician currently based in Glasgow Royal Infirmary and Stobhill Hospital. She has a specialist interest in acute frailty, looking after older adults with cancer, surgical problems and falls. At the University of Glasgow Medical School she is an Honorary Clinical Lecturer, former Sub Dean and current Frailty Lead. She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow. For 7 years she was the Secretary for the British Geriatrics Society oncogeriatrics specialist interest group and has been involved in national and international policy development / service development / quality improvement / education and research in this field.

Kirsty has cerebral palsy and was involved in Bobath Scotland, now Cerebral Palsy Scotland since it was first founded, through her parents involvement. She is delighted to see how Cerebral Palsy Scotland has developed over the years. She has a particular interest in the development of adult services and support of those living with cerebral palsy to age well. To promote disability representation she has been involved in Equity, Diversity and Inclusivity work taking on roles or educational work in all of the organisations she has been involved in.

Kirsty is a keen swimmer. First as a Para swimmer for Scotland, now a more leisurely pool and open water swimmer. She lives in Glasgow with her sausage dog Jarvis….named after her icon Jarvis Cocker.
