Claire qualified as a speech and language therapist from the University of Strathclyde in 1998. She worked with children in community clinics, special school and nurseries in Lanarkshire after graduating. From 2002-2004 she spent some time working with an overseas development charity, working alongside and training educators and therapists, especially in the use of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC). She began working at Cerebral Palsy Scotland in 2004 and is currently training to become a Bobath tutor.
Sandra MacKay | Occupational Therapist
Sandra qualified as an occupational therapist from the Robert Gordon University of Aberdeen in 1999. After qualifying, Sandra initially worked with adults before joining the Paediatric Occupational Therapy Service at the Royal Hospital for Sick Children, Edinburgh in 2000. Throughout this post, she was based at a number of different special schools where she worked with a wide range of children/young people, but predominantly those with cerebral palsy and other neurological conditions. Sandra joined the team here in January 2009. She has a keen interest in supporting children to play and learn using their hands/vision, and in getting teenagers and adults busy in the kitchen.
