In this session, we will explore ways to support play and engagement in children who:

  • require significant physical assistance to move and engage in activities and/or
  • are not able to use speech to easily communicate

Who can come?

This session is suitable for any allied health and education professionals or parents and carers supporting children with cerebral palsy or physical impairment.

What is involved?

Cerebral Palsy Scotland webinars are led by one of our specialist therapists and include a mixture of theory, case examples and practical ideas.  There will be opportunity after the presentation for questions and discussion and a copy of the presentation and a certificate of attendance will be provided to participants after completion of feedback.

Learning objectives

By the end of the session, attendees will have:

  • Improved knowledge of the differences between play and playfulness
  • Deepened their understanding of the types of play
  • Gained practical tips on adapting play activities for children and young people with complex physical needs

And had the opportunity to:

  • Ask questions 
  • Discuss additional practical tips and ideas to consider
