We are looking for a passionate, innovative and strategic leader to take on the role of Head of Fundraising & Communications. This is an exciting opportunity to shape and drive the organisation’s income generation and communications strategy, ensuring the organisation can continue to provide vital support to the CP community throughout Scotland.
As a key member of our senior management team, you will lead a high-performing fundraising and communications function responsible for generating approximately 85% of our income. You will play a pivotal role in securing major funding, developing strategic partnerships, and overseeing impactful communications that amplify our mission. The role involves managing and developing a diverse income portfolio, including trusts, major donors, individuals, and corporate supporters, while also supporting the team in community and events fundraising. You will be instrumental in delivering the organisation’s communications strategy and leading the Cerebral Palsy Scotland conference. Regular engagement with the CEO and board is also a key part of this role.
The Person
The ideal candidate will be an experienced and ambitious fundraising professional with a proven track record in securing and managing significant grants, developing strong partnerships, and delivering effective communications strategies. They will be a confident leader with excellent relationship-building skills, budget management expertise, and the ability to inspire both internal teams and external supporters. They will have experience in trusts, major donors, corporate fundraising, or digital engagement, with the ability to manage complex budgets, oversee donor stewardship, and develop compelling cases for support. A strong communicator, they will engage effectively with a range of audiences, from funders and corporate partners to service users and volunteers. They should have an in-depth understanding of UK fundraising regulations and strong project management skills, particularly in securing and managing large, multi-year grants.
A relevant qualification, such as a Certificate in Fundraising Management, would be advantageous, as would access to a car with a full driving licence.
