Jamie has responsibility for ENABLE Works – one of Scotland’s leading specialist employment support and skills services. His background in retail and marketing with major retailers and the Scottish media, and in professional football, has helped ENABLE Works develop strong partnerships with employers from all sectors of the Scottish economy.
Jamie was instrumental in establishing ENABLE Works in 2011, and ensured it became the first organisation in Scotland to offer a personalised, self-directed, model of employment support. Taking a human rights-based approach, the team has since established industry-recognised support models that support young people to transition from education into work
Jamie is a member of Scottish Government’s No-one Left Behind Advisory Group, which aims to deliver more effective and joined-up employability support across Scotland. He also sits on the government’s Disabled Children and Young People’s Advisory Group, advising on transitions and inclusion in education.
As Chair of the Scottish Union of Supported Employment, Jamie works with partner organisations to increase the availability, quality and impact of supported employment services in Scotland. He takes this agenda internationally as a committee member of the European Union of Supported Employment.
