Richard Luke is the Cerebral Palsy programme lead for the disability equality charity, Scope.
He support people living with CP and their families and friends, through the online community, queries received via the Helpline or customers contacting me directly. He advises schools, G.P.s, O.T.s, and Universities and offers training on all things CP.
His job is very varied, dealing with queries ranging from where to get physiotherapy to dating and relationships and everything in between. He keeps up to date with the latest developments in the CP community and creates content for that.
Richard has worked with the National Institute of Clinical Excellence (NICE) on behalf of Scope to create the Adult CP Care Pathway which is the biggest change in the approach to adults with CP in 40 years. More recently he worked on the All-Party Parliamentary Group for adults living with CP, from which the key recommendations highlighted the need for support to work, higher education and independent living and medical support.
